Bailey Rathmann, E.I.T.
Prior to graduating from Auburn University’s College of Engineering in 2019 with a minor in Business-Engineering Technology, Bailey was one of ten students chosen to participate in the Taiyuan University of Science and Technology and Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture Engineering Program in China. This program included participating in ongoing research projects, studied engineering and Chinese practices, and learned Chinese history, language, culture, and architecture. In addition, Bailey completed an internship with the Auburn University Office of Sustainability. Through this internship, Bailey helped cultivate an ethic and practice of sustainability at the university by planning and executing sustainability projects around campus. Bailey planned on-campus events, wrote up press releases, and managed the social networking platforms that informed the community about sustainability practices and upcoming events. This internship gave Bailey the opportunity to attend The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education’s (AASHE’s) annual conference to exchange models, policies, research, collaborations and transformative actions that advance sustainability in higher education and surrounding communities.
