Community Way Potable Water Treatment and Distribution Plant

  • Project included the design and construction of a 3 MGD potable water treatment and distribution plant complete with a 3,000,000 Gallon ground storage tank, booster pump station (2,000 GPM @ 180 TDH), back-up power generator and secure chlorine room located in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
  • Project responsibilities included, but were not limited to:
    • Detailed engineering and design
    • Regulatory permitting
    • Development of project specifications and bid packages
    • Solicitation of material and construction bids
    • Review contractor and material supplier pre-qualifications and award contracts
    • Construction supervision/management, inspection and certification
  • Project Summary:
    • 1,200 linear feet of eighteen-inch (18”) HDPE pipe
    • Site grading (10,000 cubic yards fill) and compaction testing
    • Onsite stormwater retention
    • 3,000,000 gallon concrete ground storage tank
    • Remotely programmable actuated inlet valve manifold
    • Two (2) 150 HP split-case horizontal booster pumps (2,000 GPM @ 180 TDH) complete with future/spare and Variable Frequency Drives
    • Heated/cooled control building (rated at 140 MPH) and two Ton (2T) hoist beam and manual hoist
    • 450 kW backup power generator (diesel)
    • Chlorine booster and storage building (rated at 140 MPH)
    • Integrated system control and data acquisition (SCADA)
    • Engineering Schedule: 10 weeks
    • Construction Schedule: 20 weeks
    • Approximate Project Cost: $4,500,000
