U.S. Highway 331 Choctawhatchee Bay Bridge Twin Pipelines

  • Project included the design and construction of two, parallel twenty-four-inch (24”) diameter pipelines (potable and reclaim water, respectively) attached to the underside of the 6,500 foot long U.S. Highway 331 Bridge, which crosses the Choctawhatchee Bay and Intracoastal Waterway in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
  • Project responsibilities included, but were not limited to:
    • Detailed engineering and design
    • Regulatory permitting
    • Development of project specifications and bid packages
    • Solicitation of material and construction bids
    • Review contractor and material supplier pre-qualifications and award contracts
    • Construction supervision/management, inspection and certification
  • Project Summary:
    • 13,000 linear feet of twenty-four-inch (24”) diameter restrained joint ductile iron pipe (2 parallel pipelines)
    • (26) twenty-four-inch (24”) diameter mechanical expansion joints
    • 5,640 epoxy set anchor bolts
    • 1,410 hangar assemblies
    • Engineering schedule: 16 weeks
    • Construction schedule: 30 weeks
    • Approximate project cost: $7,800,000
