The Red Bar

Structural Engineering

Project Description

The project consisted of the design of structural foundations, floor and roof plans, and the development of a compilation of structural details necessary to provide final working drawings, documents and specifications for a new restaurant and retail building located in Grayton Beach, FL measuring approximately 8,000 sq. ft. The building was rebuilt following a fire in 2018 which destroyed the 100-year-old building in which the Red Bar previously called home. Using photos and sketches, the structure designed to match the previous building, though was upgraded to meet the 2017 Florida Building Code, including a conventional concrete stem wall and slab foundation, timber framed wall, and pre-engineered timber roof truss systems.
