Mr. O’Connell has been practicing civil and structural engineering design and construction since his graduation from college in 1999. His civil design experience includes the design of residential and commercial stormwater management systems, roadways, municipal water and sewer utilities, planning, permitting and construction. His structural experience includes the design of low, mid and high-rise structures utilizing a wide variety of construction materials and the forensic analysis of critical building components associated with existing buildings.
Mr. Ekblad has a degree in Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University and is a registered professional with the states of Florida (LA#6667058) and Tennessee (#1352). His landscape design experience includes site planning, residential, commercial, industrial, medical, streetscapes, and hospitality designs. Mr. Ekblad is also proficient in developing corporate processes, contract administration, project management, and project scheduling. He has a proven knowledge of design principles for land development projects and analytical and problem-solving skills to assess organizational issues.
Prior to graduating from the University of West Florida in the Spring of 2017, Mr. Alexander spent several years working in residential construction. His early experience working for a building contractor included interpreting design drawings and implementing the design through daily construction activities. Caleb also worked for Orange Theory Fitness in Destin, Florida, acting as the owner’s representative during the new construction projects, during which time he obtained valuable knowledge in coordination for various schedules, conducting inspections, and reviewing construction documents.
Mr. Barker has a bachelors degree in civil engineering and a masters degree in structural engineering, both from the University of Alabama. His structural experience includes the detailed design of low, mid and high-rise buildings and other structures utilizing structural steel, aluminum, concrete, masonry, light gage metal, timber and engineered wood products using finite element analysis. Josh also has experience in the structural assessment, renovation and expansion of existing buildings, the forensic analysis of distressed critical building components and detailed foundation design which includes timber, precast and auger-cast pilings, shallow foundation systems such as strip footings, spread footing pads and continuous mat slabs.
Ms. Mcpherson has been working in the fields of customer service, office management, bookkeeping and accounting since 1989. She began her career in the banking industry and from there advanced in to office management positions and then on to accounting/operations management. Melody has extensive experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, payroll tax, business license management, benefits administration and operations management.
Mr. Nash has been practicing in the fields of civil engineering design, land development and construction since before his graduation from college in 2001. His civil design experience includes: residential, commercial and industrial site design including planning, roadways, streetscapes, stormwater management systems, utilities and permitting, municipal water/sewer utilities and treatment facilities including planning, conceptual design, state and federal funding assistance, design reports, bid documents, construction contract administration and project management.
Mrs. Ryles-Waller has been involved with condominium and homeowner associations since becoming a Licensed Community Association Manager in 2005. Her association management experience helped her obtain working knowledge of building systems and allowed her the opportunity to oversee the development and implementation of management tools including building envelope reports, building maintenance plans, and reserve studies. Her multiple building refurbishment project experience sharpened her attention to detail, strengthened communication between owners and contractors, and helped her develop commercial construction knowledge.
For over 30 years Mr. Bryant has been working in structural, mechanical and electrical engineering design and construction. His structural experience includes the design and construction of structural steel, concrete, masonry, light gage metal, timber, engineered wood products. His mechanical experience includes the design and construction of sand and gravel processing equipment, rock crushers, conveyors, vibrators, screens, support and safety equipment for both mobile and stationary applications utilizing self-contained diesel, hydraulic and electric dependent power sources. Mr. Bryant’s electrical experience includes the design of programmable controller cabinets and machine circuitry, as well as preparing electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical blueprints and specifications. In addition to his technical design and construction skills, Mr. Bryant honorably served his country from 1979 to 1983 as Pararescue Jumper Special Operations/Medic Team Specialist for the United States Air Force, where he trained to rescue downed pilots (U2 Crews) in hostile environments and speak multiple foreign languages including Spanish and Korean.
Ms. Feagin graduated from The University of Alabama in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering, and master’s degrees in both civil engineering and business administration. As part of her graduate research, Morgan designed an algorithm based on soil types and project location to determine delay times and liquidated damages due to weather days. While in college, Morgan worked with a local, custom home contractor where she gained valuable experience in building design and construction management and during the summer of 2019, she travelled to India where she studied poverty of both urban and rural communities and developed methods to benefit the communities through reverse innovation.
Mr. London graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama in 2022. While in college, Alex worked for a mid-size construction management firm where he gained valuable experience in commercial and residential development projects. His civil design experience includes design of residential and commercial and industrial projects, as well as construction estimating, report writing and construction contract administration.
Mr. Lowell graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University in 2021. While in college, Brent worked for a mid-size site development and surveying firm where he gained valuable experience in a wide variety of both private and government projects. His civil design experience includes surveying and design of residential, commercial and industrial projects, as well as state and federal funding assistance, report writing, bid document development and construction contract administration.
Mr. Nist over has 30 years of experience as a Registered Professional Engineer working in civil, municipal, and structural engineering design, construction inspection, and contract administration. His civil design experience includes land development design, municipal water and sewer long range utility capital improvements planning and design, stormwater management design, traffic generation reports, construction inspection and contract administration. His construction, inspection, and contract administration experience includes previous employment as an assistant public works director and as a public works director overseeing roadway, stormwater and utility system maintenance and capital improvement projects.
Mr. Pritt has been working in the civil engineering, municipal and land development industries since 1988. He is experienced in all aspects of design and development for residential, commercial and municipal infrastructure projects including the creation and design of construction plans for water and wastewater development, site geometry, utilities, grading, drainage, erosion control, roadway plan and profiles, sanitary sewer and stormwater design. Don also has extensive experience in GIS field using E.S.R.I’s ArcMap Advanced and ArcGIS Pro as well as Trimble’s Pathfinder Office and Terrasync software.
Mr. Sanders graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. While in college, Tyson worked for a structure research center as a lab assistant, where he gained knowledge of structural concrete testing. In the structure lab, he assisted with test setups by applying strain and deflection gauges to the concrete structures before testing, as well as poured concrete cylinders to be tested. Mr. Sanders also completed an internship at an engineering firm in Tallahassee, where he gained knowledge in civil engineering.
Mr. Spence graduated as a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida State University in 2022. Matt began his career with O’Connell & Associates in the summer of 2021 when he began working as an intern in the structural engineering department. Using the skills he acquired during the summer, which included column, beam and foundation design, performing lateral wind load analysis of multi-story conventionally framed wood structures, construction document drafting, and reviewing and coordinating structural and architectural drawings, Matt focused his senior-year curriculum on aspects related to structural engineering projects common to NW Florida. This allowed him to hit-the-ground-running after graduation and begin making an immediate impact.
Ms. Williams has been practicing in the fields of civil engineering design, land development and construction and environmental consulting since before her graduation from college in 2008. Her civil design experience includes; residential, commercial and industrial site design including planning, roadways, streetscapes, stormwater management systems, utilities and permitting; municipal water/sewer utilities and treatment facilities including planning, conceptual design, traffic analysis, design reports, construction contract administration and project management. Her environmental experience includes developing training requirements for various construction sites and environmental remediation strategies.
Mr. Scott graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He also holds an Associate of Science in Computer Drafting and Design from ITT Technical Institute, earned in 2005. With over 15 years of experience, Ryan has managed complex infrastructure projects and provided technical support as a City Engineer, demonstrating expertise in design, permitting, and construction processes.
Mr. Brannon graduated from Florida State University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and has accumulated five years of diverse experience in civil and environmental engineering. His background includes supporting and designing site development and stormwater management projects for various municipal, commercial, and residential projects. Mr. Brannon has worked on traffic engineering, utility design, environmental permitting, and grant writing. He has served as an engineer on projects requiring collaboration with multiple regulatory agencies, focusing on compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. Thomas is a registered Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) and is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Public Works Association. His experience includes managing stormwater design, utility modeling, roadway construction, and public infrastructure improvements across various counties and municipalities.
Logan McDaniel earned his Master of Engineering in Biomechanical Engineering from Clemson University, where he developed a strong foundation in engineering design and project management. He has extensive experience with CAD software, including Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks, and has built multiple prototypes for medical device projects, demonstrating his ability to transform concepts into functional designs. As a Clinical Specialist for Neurosurgery at Brainlab INC, Logan applied his engineering expertise to support complex surgical procedures, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide training on advanced medical equipment. His diverse experience also includes roles in research and development, intellectual property analysis, and project leadership, making him a versatile addition to the team.
Amy Owens has extensive experience in construction management, project coordination, and design review compliance, working on a variety of commercial, government, and residential projects. She has managed the construction administration process for numerous high-profile projects, ensuring compliance with design review boards, architects, and builders. Amy's work includes managing large-scale projects such as hangars, medical facilities, condominiums, and detention centers. She has effectively coordinated with architects, owners, subcontractors, and suppliers, demonstrating expertise in scheduling, budgeting, negotiating contracts, and overseeing all phases of construction. With a strong background in both on-site and office-based roles, Amy excels in facilitating communication and delivering successful project outcomes.
Mr. Thomas brings over 25 years of experience as a licensed home inspector and journeyman electrician, offering a wealth of expertise in the home inspection business and the commercial construction industry. He is a Certified Master Inspector (CMI) and is state licensed in both Florida and Texas. As the owner of iInspectDFW PLLC, he has performed over 1,600 home inspections, ensuring clients receive thorough and accurate evaluations. Nicolas is bilingual in Spanish and English, enhancing his ability to serve a diverse clientele. His extensive knowledge of electrical systems includes leading crews on major construction projects such as the Love Field Modernization Project, the Medical Center of Plano, and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield headquarters. With his commitment to safety, attention to detail, and ability to manage complex projects, Nicolas is a valuable asset in any construction or inspection role.
Mr. Rouen brings over 13 years of experience in project management and surveying, with a strong focus on construction management, project estimation, and survey phase execution. He has a robust background in overseeing projects from procurement to commission, ensuring that all deliverables meet client specifications and quality standards. In his role as a Survey Phase Manager at SGC Engineering, Tim has been instrumental in preparing proposals, cost estimates, and providing on-site project support to develop efficient work procedures. His previous experience includes managing complex survey projects at Morris P. Hebert Inc., where he developed and initiated projects, managed budgets, coordinated with contractors, and fostered positive client relationships.
Tim's expertise extends to safety protocols, permit processing, and managing subcontractors, making him a valuable asset in executing projects within strict timeframes and budget constraints. He is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD (2008-2022), Civil 3D, and multiple Trimble software platforms, including Trimble Access and Trimble Business Center. A member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) and the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors (LSPS), Tim also holds an NSPS Level I Certification and is an accomplished United States Army Combat Veteran, bringing leadership skills honed through his service in Operation Noble Eagle, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
