Mr. Neal graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Florida State University in 2022. He began his career with O’Connell & Associates in the summer of 2021 as an intern in the Structural Engineering Department. During his internship, Mr. Neal gained valuable experience in column, beam, and foundation design; performing lateral wind load analyses of multi-story conventionally framed wood structures; preparing construction documents; and reviewing and coordinating structural and architectural drawings. Building on these experiences, he tailored his senior-year coursework toward structural engineering applications commonly encountered throughout Northwest Florida. This focused academic and practical foundation enabled Mr. Neal to transition seamlessly into a full-time engineering role after graduation, where he quickly became a productive contributor to the firm’s structural design and project delivery efforts.
