The work

The project consisted of the structural renovation of an existing one and two-story commercial office building located in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and measuring approximately 17,000 sq. ft.

The scope of work included evaluating the structural foundations, floor and roof systems, and development of a compilation of structural details necessary to provide final working drawings, documents and specifications. The two-story building consisted of steel frame construction with a combination of metal panels, stucco and ceramic tile walls. The single single-story portion of the building consisted of a grouted masonry walls with a stucco finish. The roof system consists of steel bar joists and timber framing. The project includes the construction of a new elevator shaft and a modified floor system with a balcony and stairway, and a new entry feature.
