STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING

Structural engineering for coastal buildings.

Sealed drawings, structural assessments, forensic analysis, renovations, and peer review for general contractors, architects, and developers across Northwest Florida. Our principals and engineers all have design and construction backgrounds, which is why the answer is usually the economical one. The firm is licensed to practice in 12 states, with work history beyond Florida.

What we design, evaluate, and review.

Residential, commercial & municipal design

New-building structural systems and construction documents, residential through high-rise, designed for coastal wind zones.

Residential design

Sealed structural design for custom coastal homes: foundations, framing, and connections engineered for coastal wind zones, drawn so a framer can build without guessing.

Forensic analysis

Assessment of observed distress or suspected failure. We document what we find in a form built to hold up under scrutiny, and provide expert support when disputes happen.

Related · Luau

Structural renovations

Alterations, additions, and repairs to existing buildings: a single beam question, or roof, deck, and steel repairs across a whole property.

Related · Luau · Emerald Towers West

Peer review

Independent review of structural plans and design approaches. We compare the design against the loads, the code, and the way it will be built, and put our findings in writing.

3D & finite element analysis

3D modeling and finite element analysis where the structure warrants it, so complex coastal wind-zone behavior is calculated rather than estimated by rule of thumb.

Contract Administration

When the structure is being repaired rather than built new, our Contract Administration team carries the construction phase: Construction Observations, progress meetings, and pay application review.
